I am a Berlin-based costume designer.
Since graduating in costume design from the Berlin University of the Arts in 2014, I have primarily worked on feature films and TV series. Over the last ten years, I have developed a particular focus on coming-of-age stories and science fiction. That said, I have also been involved in a number of projects with different thematic focus areas and hugely enjoy a diverse set of experiences.
To me, costume design is an essential part of the visual composition of a film, offering the viewer further insights into the characters and enriching the audience’s ability to connect with the story. As a result, I devote a lot of attention to finding the most appropriate design concept for every project. Textures, colors, as well as the movement of costumes make stories accessible on a sensory level. In addition, unspoken, hidden, or even invisible things can find their visual expression through costume design.
Since 2014, I have repeatedly held teaching positions in the costume design department at the University of the Arts Berlin, specialising in film costume design.
